Why Choose Sycamore Park?We started Sycamore Park as an opportunity to better serve clients by offering a different type of valuation firm. One that combines the expertise of a large firm and the nimbleness of a boutique firm. This unique combination provides tremendous value to our clients, who appreciate our responsiveness and commitment to serving them. Whether from our core team or members of our network, we bring talented, motivated professionals to your engagement.
Our team has over 30 years of experience in valuation with backgrounds from global accounting and consulting firms. Sycamore Park’s core team and leadership have been working together since 2010, when both were part of Grant Thornton’s San Francisco valuation practice. At Sycamore Park we believe in using smaller, highly skilled teams to ensure your project gets the time and attention it deserves. What Distinguishes UsValuation is a crowded field, and choosing the right provider for your company can be difficult. Despite the majority of valuation work being compliance related, there is a huge disparity in the quality and defensibility of valuation work. We have a unique perspective on this because we have worked at audit firms and reviewed hundreds of reports. As a client it can be difficult and confusing to review the quality of a valuation report; however, if you have ever gone through audit / SEC review then you know the importance of having a provider that can clearly and thoroughly respond to review questions. We don’t view audit, SEC or other review as antagonistic, instead we view it as an opportunity to collaborate and help make their job a little easier. Defensibility is about understanding the full picture, having reasonable inputs supported by objective and reliable market data, and using methodologies approved by AICPA, FASB and SEC guidance.
